Taking Natural Resource Management Beyond the Shore - A Guide

mccn_nrm_guide.pdf

Across Australia, many Natural Resource Management (NRM) regions are at varying stages in developing or implementing their regional plans. There is a marked difference in the degree to which marine and coastal management issues are being tackled within regional NRM plans.
The Marine and Coastal Community Network (MCCN) has developed a 72-page guide, "Taking NRM Beyond the Shore - Integrating Marine and Coastal Issues into Natural Resource Management in Australia" to assist regional NRM practitioners and, importantly, encourage the allocation of necessary resources through regional investment strategy processes.
The Guide provides a comprehensive national overview of marine and coastal issues and policy initiatives, and contains extensive checklists to help regional planners identify (or review) actions to be included in NRM plans.
You can download a PDF copy of the Guide above, or you can obtain a hardcopy by request - contact our national office at nat-off@mccn.org.au .
