CLAM: Coastal Lake Assessment and Management Tool
CLAM is a modelling approach and decision support tool that allows decision-makers and stakeholders to assess the social, economic and environmental trade-offs associated with development, remediation and use options for coastal lakes and estuaries. CLAM was developed by researchers at the Australian National University (ANU) and an accreditation scheme has been formed to train consultants in how to develop and maintain a CLAM. Accreditation builds local capacity for Council staff to update the tools as management options change or new information becomes available. For more information on CLAM projects, locations or accreditation, visit www.clam.net.au or contact the CLAM Coordinator (Naomi Brydon) on clam@anuenterprise.com.au
