The Kimberley region of Western Australia is attracting a growing interest in tourism, mining, oil and gas, fishing and aquaculture, and associated infrastructure development for population growth. The sustainable use of the Kimberley region is now critical to secure a promising future for local communities, and ensure the conservation of the unique ecosystems and rich biodiversity of the marine and coastal environments. The North West Research Association (NWRA) and Marine Coastal Community Network (MCCN) are proud to present the 2008 Kimberley Marine & Coastal Scientific Forum Series. The series will comprise of two parts. Part 1 - 'A Focus on Science' was held on 17 January 2008 .
